Cloudy w/ light showers.
Today, my family and I took a day trip to Montreal. It was pretty cloudy in the morning so it was nice and cool. Bonus, not very many people came out :)
First, we visited Old Montréal.
See the uneven stone? Favourite thing to walk on. Even better when driving.
In this general area, there was a man selling paintings. On one of the paintings he had a sign that read, "NOT made in China" I laughed quite a bit XD.
We visited the Notre Dame of Montréal. It's stunning, and this is only the side view from the outside.
It's so purdyyyy.
This is what the main altar looks like. *insert mouth drop here* It was really dark, and I was taking these pictures with my phone, so I wasn't able to take that many pictures.
The church also had a 7,000 pipe organ. Imagine tuning that!
Afterwards we had lunch at a local crêpe and fondue place.
YUM!
I drank a cappuccino and ate their "La Parisian" crêpe, which contained brie cheese, and apples, there was also some maple syrup drizzled on top. My brother ate an Instagram worthy chocolate fondue.
Afterwards, we just walked around a bit.
Is this not the most epic thing ever? Pac-man on the road what the even.
This is why everyone loves Montréal.
Later on, we drove over to the Botanic Gardens. I've been so many times and yet each time it never fails to astound me.
They seemed to have flowers in every shade of beautiful...
Ahh, So pretty!
We also visited the Japanese and Chinese gardens.
In the Japanese garden, there was an exhibit on the Hiroshima bombing. For the exhibit, they had asked (I suppose) victims to draw something from the bombing and give a quote/story to with it.
It was quite heart-wrenching. One person had seen their friend die. That hit me hard. I would never want to be part of such a terrible thing, and I hope none of you guys will ever have to go through something like that, and if you have, I hope you're okay.
Hopefully, this lotus flower cheers you up after reading that :)
After our dinner in Chinatown we wanted to see wether or not Jazzfest or Bluesfest or something of the sort was going on.
We saw these women (I think) dressed up in crazy costumes, doing volunteers from the attendees' hair and makeup. There were a ton of people milling about and it was really fun to people-watch, and see what people were wearing.
